Jen Clapp

Songwriter

Jen Clapp is a musician and songwriter living in Beacon, NY.  She started out in NYC with acoustic trio Native Tongue, playing in the downtown music scene at venues such as Café Sin-e, Speakeasy, and Wetlands in the 1990s. When the band broke up Jen moved to San Francisco, and over the next ten years became a homebirth midwife, wife and mother of two.  Since moving back to NY’s Hudson Valley she has produced one CD, Lonesome Sunbeam, described in reviews as “warm, intimate and inviting,” and “graceful and majestic.”  Jen performed two songs she co-wrote with Chris Difford (Squeeze) for Songs from the Weald, a CD project in which Chris wrote lyrics based on interviews with hospice patients, and appears on recordings by Adam Levy and many local artists.  She is currently a member of ReBurt, an 8-piece band which takes great pleasure in reimaging the works of Burt Bacharach.
